Because love knows no season; spring, summer, fall, or winter, we host stunning weddings April through November at The Sablewood, taking advantage of each beautiful season upstate New York offers. Our venue is designed with a variety of outdoor, weather protected, and indoor spaces to beautifully accommodate your guests in comfort with full climate control.

Our goal is for your event to be everything you imagine and more. It should reflect your unique personality and vision and we will assist with everything from vendor selection to room layout and setup to help bring your vision to life. We will also be here in the background keeping our barns and grounds meticulously maintained to display the timeless beauty of this historic property.

We’ve designed our spaces with the flexibility to function effortlessly for events of all sizes from 25 to 175 guests. You may select from a variety of ceremony and cocktail locations, with receptions taking place inside the Sablewood barn. Even the farm tables were created with beauty and guest comfort in mind as timber from our farm was used to build the trestle style table base and farm table tops. The trestle design allows space for our large comfortable wooden chairs. This is furniture designed for your home dining room and we choose it so that, well, you feel at home.

We believe in going above and beyond to make your day unforgettable. One way we do this is by offering a wide variety of impressive finished spaces and high-end amenities to ensure you have a beautiful experience regardless of weather. We have considered everything so you don’t have to worry about the details.

At the Sablewood, we host one event per day. With your rental you have private use of the property for a special experience unique to you. Read on to discover all that’s included in the Sablewood experience.

  • The Sablewood’s Grand Room [3,600 sq. ft.] — Circa 1870 barn with soaring 40’ ceilings, 12’ wide 1920s crystal chandelier, 12 complementing wall sconces, and full climate control. Including handcrafted farm tables and gorgeous French country dining chairs.
  • The Sablewood’s Stables [2,100 sq. ft.] — Indoor gathering space including well-appointed restrooms and coat room. The Stables adjoins the Grand Room with 3 large barn doors and includes a 14’ handmade bar, handcrafted lighting, two large coat racks, and 40’ original barn beam bench.
  • The Sablewood’s Catering Prep Room — Adjoining the Sablewood’s Grand Room, well-lit and complete with water, plenty of power, and stainless-steel prep tables.
  • The Loft Preparation Suite — Furnished with exquisite lighting, white vintage furniture, hair and makeup stations, a bar, mini refrigerator, plenty of mirrors, and private bathroom.
  • The Quarters Preparation Suite — Richly appointed with leather seating, handmade custom chandelier, bar, mirrors, mini refrigerator, and private bathroom.
  • The Charlington [2,700 sq. ft.] — All white ceremony barn with vaulted ceilings including three beautiful hand-crafted French country chandeliers and ten complementing wall sconces. Complete with well-appointed restrooms and lovely exterior lighting.
  • The Charlington’s Bluestone Veranda [2,200 sq. ft.] — Weather protected bluestone veranda surrounded by beautiful landscaping with gorgeous lanterns, greenery, and fountain.
  • The Hot Spot Fire Boulder and Outdoor Lounge — For evenings under the stars complete with fire boulder, Adirondack chairs, bistro lighting, and lounge furniture.
  • The Ceremony Circle — Adjacent to the Preparation Suites with breathtaking mountain views, flower urns, lush greenery, stone surfaces, arbor, and wooden cross back vineyard chairs.
  • The Cocktail Garden — Adjoining the Ceremony Circle, a lush garden with stone walking paths, fountains, benches, massive handcrafted semicircular bar with umbrella, cocktail tables and chairs.
  • Time for set up and rehearsal prior to your event
  • Private car with driver to drive the couple and their photography team around the farm
  • Beautiful, well-appointed restrooms in the barn (ADA accessible)
  • Climate control inside the barns with Central AC/Heating

  • Year-Round Support and Wedding Day Assistance
  • On-site Venue Team — Assistance before, during, and after your event to greet and direct guests and vendors, set up and breakdown our furniture for ceremony, cocktail, and reception, maintain the property, lighting, outdoor fire (weather permitting), clean and stock restrooms, and clean up.
  • Basic décor setup including welcome stations, gift and memory tables, favors, and seating charts, and moving of ceremony décor to repurpose for reception
